AKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This Project is inspired by the work of many individuals.
Collectors/explorers whom, for decades, have been searching the globe for killifish species and populations. Without them, scientific knowledge about oviparous Cyprinodontiformes would be insipient and the killifish hobby as we know it wouldn’t even exist. The Killifish Collections Project wishes to honour them by showing their work and adventures.
All the people that gathered and made available information regarding killifish collections in the past. In this respect, The Killifish Collections Project pays a special tribute to Roger Langton, author of Wild Collections of Killifish 1950 – 1995 and subsequent actualizations, an invaluable source of information.
Ichthyologists, professionals and amateurs alike, whom have dedicated their time and efforts in increasing the scientific knowledge on killifish.
Aquarists, at any level of expertise, fundamental at maintaining, reproducing and distributing the species collected. With increasing natural habitats destruction and accelerated climate changes, their activity will prove to be essential in the long-term conservation of species, some of them extinct in the wild.
The Killifish Collections Project is dedicated to all of them.
