ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Expedition TD 05 found Nothobranchius rubroreticulatus in Zakouma National Park, approximately 700 km east of its type locality, near Djamena. Another objective of the expedition was to find Pronothobranchius kiyawensis, but without success, as it was too late in the season and the biotopes had already dried up.

Ruud Wildekamp joined the team with the particular goal of collecting an Aphyosemion species, something he had never done before. The team searched along the Chad–Central African Republic border in an attempt to establish the northern limit of the genus. As no Aphyosemion species were found, the results suggest that the northern limit of the genus lies south of Chad.

Both Epiplatys species were very abundant along the souteastern border of Chad.
